Lilly Likes are no strangers to flight cancellations. Last year alone we missed out on over ten separate opportunities to jet off into the sunset. We buckled down, knuckled under, and made the most of it in true Great British spirit. During lockdown we showered readers with ways to keep ourselves amused at home. All the time, we were secretly wishing we could get away from it all.
And so, the Lilly Likes team booked several different holidays to get away somewhere during 2020/2021. We sat back and watched while flight after flight was cancelled. It would have cost us a fortune except that we got wise to it all early on.
After our first cancelled flight we switched company so that we were flying with easyJet instead. As our departure date rolled around, the country didn’t emerge from lockdown, and we were forced to rebook as the flight was cancelled. We called easyJet and were offered a refund, a credit note, or a reschedule. We decided to reschedule since, back then, we didn’t realise how long it would go on for.
After the second set of cancelled flights, we opted for a refund. The money appeared in our accounts within 7 days of asking for it. This was a remarkable improvement on our last set of flights (which operator shall remain nameless). Our first operator told us there was nothing they could do and kept our money.
For all the reports we’ve received from Lilly Likes readers in the past few months, we see this consistent theme, time and time again. easyJet holidays are returning clients flight and holiday fees when they inevitably get cancelled due to changing Covid travel restrictions. In a world where other operators are going bust, easyJet are shrugging it off and moving on to the next available dates.
So, when they approached us and asked us to help them spread word of their price protection promise. All we ask is that you consider buying your trips through them now, at least until the tourism sector is back on its feet again. It’s the best way to protect your money so you have something to look forward to.
The EasyJet Protection Promise
With the pandemic a regular feature of the tourism sector, international travel restrictions are becoming a factor in calculating whether clients fly with us or not. With so much uncertainty in border closures and rescheduling a common facet of travel, we thought it in our customer’s best interests to do some rearranging of our own.
While the world of flight schedules was hectic, we re-examined our returns and pricing policies to ease the pressure on our customers. We studied the international border closures, quarantine restrictions, and travel bans, and learned form the experience. We came up with a redesigned system that puts our clients first when it comes to cancellations.
Transfer your Flight for Free this Summer!
You can transfer your easyJet flight completely free this summer, up to 2 hours before you depart. This offer is open to all of our destinations on our network. Until the end of September 2021, you can change your flight without incurring fees until as little as 2 hours before you depart.
With returns in place to help protect your holiday investment and 2-hour pre-flight transferrable tickets, a flight booked with easyJet is a flight you will eventually get to enjoy. Here are the details of our Protection Promise to keep you informed.
The UK Covid-19 Traffic Light System Means Travel Providers have to be Responsive
Considering current events, we travel operators need to pick up the pace and provide more flexible, versatile options for the jet-setting consumer. The introduction of the traffic lights system means that flights and holiday plans can be changed or cancelled at the last second. We went back to the drawing board and created something that better suited the situation.
The Flexible Flight Protection Promise
Our flexible flight protection promise allows you to change your flights for free, up to 2 hours before you travel. Up until the 30th of September 2021!
Using easyJet, you can make sure that your flights can be rescheduled for free, should your destination country move from green to amber, or from amber to red. This accounts for some of the lost travel fees our clients have experienced when traveling with different airlines in the past.
Countries moved to the Red Light
If your flights are moved to a country that is a no-go zone, we can still help. We will refund the cost of your holiday or give you a credit note for the full amount, sent to your online easyJet Holiday’s account. If you would prefer to reschedule for a future date, we can do that too.
If your holiday destination country imposes quarantine restrictions forcing you to cancel, or if you decide you cannot meet quarantine regulations upon your return to the UK, we will happily apply this same 28 day’s prior free refund deal.

easyJet Flight Guarantees
We want to rebuild trust in the tourism sector and particularly in our own flights and holidays. To do this, we have put several guarantees in place, each destined to attract consumers back to a product they have lost confidence in.
If you are travelling in the next few months and you are concerned about booking in case things change, easyJet currently offer the best protection available to you. Protect your holiday investment and take advantage of some of our guarantees.
Best Price or we Match it
We always strive to offer the most affordable rates on our holidays. To further protect your holiday, we have long since offered the Best Price Guarantee. This protects your international holiday at the time of booking. When you agree to buy, we guarantee that we are offering the cheapest deal on the market. If you find the same deal on any other site or with any other provider, we will match it by placing the difference in your online easyJet Holiday’s account. We are so confident that we won’t be beaten in price, that we will even throw in an extra £5 per adult person booked, to make it worth your while. If you think you can beat our prices, head to our website, and fill in the form you will find under the Best Price Guarantee page
We Guarantee your Refunds
When you cancel your flight, or when your flight is cancelled, through us, we will offer you three options. You can have your flight rescheduled, you can have your money refunded, or you can accept a credit note to your online easyJet account to be redeemed later.
Provided that you cancel or change your flight within 28 days of the departure date, you will have refunds made to your account. Our average turnaround on refunds is currently 10 working days, although our outside limit on returning your fees is 28 days.
The easyJet Holidays Difference
Booking with us means your holiday investment is safer. You can receive money back or a credit note, or you can reschedule your flight. Those aren’t the only reasons that our clients choose to fly with us, time and time again.
Pay in Instalments
With our new options in payment, you can choose when and what to pay towards your next holiday. There are no hidden costs, no fees, and you will receive all your payments back if your flight is cancelled with 28 days or more in notice. You don’t even have to close the balance until that 28-day mark, meaning you have more time to save up your spending money.
Full Date Flexibility
If your flights are cancelled for any reason, you don’t have to pay a penny towards changing them, provided you are out-with the 28-day period. If you are closer to your departure date than that, we have introduced a flat rate fee of £25 per booking, to make working out what you owe easier.
Don’t forget that we allow you to change your tickets up to 2 hours before you depart and it won’t cost you a penny.
100% ATOL Protected
Your easyJet holiday is fully protected by the Air Travel Organiser’s License, meaning you will get 100% of your money back, should we close before your flights leave. Holidays that are ATOL protected give you your money back should something go wrong on the side of the travel operator.
Deposit Refund Protection
If your flights are cancelled more than 28 days before you fly, we will change your flights or refund you, then we will give you your deposit back. Unlike other firms, we will credit the £60 per person deposit required for our holidays back into your online account. This money can be used again for your next holiday, so you don’t lose out.
Further Information about your next easyJet holiday
You can gain all the help and support you may still require by logging in to your online easyJet Holidays account. From here, you can book, request rescheduled flights or refunds, and see what your total balance is.
If you want to learn more about these recent changes, you can revise our booking conditions or see our Price Guarantee pages. There is also an online help and support centre that can answer any queries you still have about the easyJet Price Protection Promise.
For everything else, you can contact us. Our able team are on hand and happy to help.
