London – a Tier 2 Christmas Break?

  • London – a Tier 2 Christmas Break?

Lilly Likes investigates the best things to see and do in London, on your Tier 2, Pre/Post-Christmas break.

Whether you get there before Christmas or whether you get there after is of little-to-no consequence. London is calling… and it’s calling most of us… or at least those that are able to visit depending on what tier it is in.

Nevertheless – we persist! With the dogged determination of nice guys everywhere, let’s take a look at what you could be getting up to in London… provided you are in the right tier to visit.

As ever, you can find out about other Christmas and lockdown themed articles over on our home pages, where Lilly is known to discuss anything from entertaining little ones to spending more time on your own. However you want to treat yourself, you’ll always find something nestled in the hub of our little interweb community here.

Let’s #getonwithit and look at what you could be doing in London, instead of spending the pre/post-Christmas period at home.

The Best Things to do in Tier 2 London!

Let’s celebrate emerging from full lockdown with an exploration into the best bits of Tier 2 London.

London Experiences for the Adventurous

Those of an adventurous nature will appreciate some of our guide to things to do in London that are extra fun. One of our collective favourites (as ordered by Lilly, our lovely boss) is this pottery making and painting workshop near London Bridge. It lasts for 90 minutes and includes BYOB facilities. Go along with wine and your favourite person and treat yourselves to something a little bit different.

Arguably even better and aimed at you and your musically minded buddies, you can rent a music studio for two hours in the heart of the city. Why? To perform and record that Christmas hit single you have been planning all these years. No? Don’t lie. This deal is for up to four people and offers a unique Christmas present, even if you happen to be tone deaf yourself.

Tier 2 London for Families

We aren’t going to mention the alpacas again. Do not, under any circumstances, go and investigate the case of the Alpaca Farm in the suburbs.

Otherwise, there are a thousand things to do in London with kids – tier 2 or otherwise. If there are four of you, there is a specially dedicated candle making course, suitable for supervised young families. Learn a new hobby at the same time as you make something beautiful. Everyone wins… especially mum and dad, who get new candles and quiet kids.

Romantic Post-Lockdown London Breaks

There are so many things to do in London as a couple. Nobody ever thinks of it as a romantic break destination – but you should never underestimate the power of a capital city. We have a helicopter flight with chocolate and champagne that says otherwise, and can even raise you a wine tasting afternoon in a bluebell-strewn vineyard. London has romance in spades. You just have to know where to look.

Let’s not forget that being part of a couple is being part of something bigger than yourself. You are a team now, and you have to grow and learn together to make a future. Part of this is about rhythm… which you either have or you have to learn. Try these Salsa dancing classes in Clapham on for size. They might just bring you and your partner that spark you have been looking for.

For the Solo Traveller

Just because you are travelling on your own doesn’t mean that you can’t have as much fun as everyone else. Some experiences are actually tailor made for those that fly solo and give you the opportunity to meet fellow solo artists.

Check into the Yotel Punch Lunch to get your drink on with several total strangers, all doing the same thing you are… and enjoy a few (alcoholic) punches in a chic, high-end setting while you do it. Alternatively, opt in for a London chocolate tour, where you walk around the city tasting chocolate samples and buying goodies at different locations. Yum-yum.

If you are of a spooky nature, or if you are looking for something to do at night that doesn’t involve alcohol, we have the answer. The Jack The Ripper London Mystery Walk visits some of the sights where the killer once lurked, bringing you closer than ever to one of the best known historic serial killers in London.

Wine and Dine in Tier 2 London

After all of those adventures, you will be looking for somewhere to eat, drink, and be merry, at the end of any given night. You could eat at the hotel or have food sent to your room – or you could indulge in one of our awesome deals for eating out and about in post-lockdown London. Don’t forget that you can stay out till 10 or 11 pm in tier 2, so you can party with the grown ups a little before bed.

If you love a cabaret, there’s no need to stay home. Celebrate in style with a table-only service and wear your mask if you get up to move around. Have a few drinks, enjoy a good show, and stumble back to your hotel exactly like you would every other night out… except this time do it with a drag performance, a giggle or two, and ‘bottomless’ cocktail hours…

Liked the sound of bottomless? You can choose to go to a comedy show with a meal and drinks thrown in, instead. It’s all a matter of how much you like Ru Paul.

Lilly’s Final Thoughts

If you are going to go to London for a short break in a post-lockdown world, then be sure to follow all the guidelines so that we can all get out of this sooner. Lilly Likes won’t get political, we’re just here for a good time, but it doesn’t hurt to remind ourselves that following the advice means we all get back to normal sooner… whatever that might mean.

Until then? Party like it’s 1999. Just remember to be home by 11.

The eCommerce law stipulates that we must provide clear explanation as to how the site works and what earnings are made. Well basically, some companies might pay commission on sales that we encourage, some companies do not, or sponsorship maybe sought from some companies we show on our site
