Online Courses to help you learn during Lockdown
First thing is first… If you go through lockdown and all you get done is to keep on top of the dishes – that’s just fine. There’s no shame in being a bit traumatised by a global pandemic.
Secondly: here at Lilly Likes we appreciate how hard it is to stay at home for a month and not do anything. If you happen to be of a productive mindset and want to use the time as such, then one of the many online courses available on our deals pages will rock your wee world.
For the purposes of Lockdown Part Deux, we have dug through the paperwork on your behalf, in order to find the online courses that sound like A) they could be fun, or B) they could improve your life.
Don’t forget who we are, here at Lilly Likes. Not in a “We will come to your house” kind of way, in a “We have lots of fun things to read” kind of way. Head on over to the blog and have a swatch for yourself. We are particularly proud of our article about the top 10 advent calendars of the year… Did you know you can get beauty advent calendars? We didn’t…
Anyway, on with the online course show. What sorts of things could you study during lockdown, if you really wanted to?
Online Courses for the Pandemic Productive
Here are some of our absolute favourite online courses… we’ll start with the animals.
The Online Animal Care Course Pack
Do you dream of a career working in an adoption centre? Is your waking life spent visiting shelters, fostering pups, or rehousing turtles? If so, this 4-in-1 animal care online course will teach you everything you need to know to advance a budding career in animal care.
This course gives you a diploma in animal care at the end, covering all the key aspects needed for you to take exemptional care of animals. It covers things like pet sitting, pet nutrition and diet, dog grooming, and even pet psychology.

If you want to be taken seriously as a dog walker, pet sitter, or even as a groomer, this is the ideal finishing touch to put the cherry on top of your career. You get a little certificate you can put on the wall and everyone knows you have studied before taking on their pet. Besides anything else it’s interesting to learn what your dog might be thinking, and whether or not your cat is planning your murder.
(It is)
If it’s of interest to you, head on over and have a peek. It’s a really good price for the four combined courses and can really develop an animal carers career.
The Online Stress Management Course
OK… so maybe you are feeling a bit traumatised by all of this apocalyptic stuff, and maybe you just want to relax. When you have been in this uptight position for such a long time, you start to forget how to do that. Relaxation can be re-learned, don’t panic. You re-learn it with the use of a course like the online meditation, visualisation, and stress management course.
This course teaches you all about metta meditation and visualisation, which means it teaches you how to use Buddhist meditations focused on peace and love. If you can do this in your calm place, you can do it in your own life. This is a 2.5 hour course that is purely for the benefit of your mood and that of the people around you.

Genuinely, without joking, meditation can change your life if you are under pressure often. Try it for yourself and report back via our IG page.
The Online CBT Course
This is the cheapest we have ever seen a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Course for so we had to add it in. Anyone who has ever done therapy in the UK before will know what CBT is. You sit down with a therapist and tell them about your behavioural, emotional, or trauma problems are. They then examine your behaviour, helping you take an objective look at it, and together you work to sort stuff out.
They teach you ways to manage mental health conditions so that you can lead as normal a life as possible. Anyone who has anxiety, depression, or any other mental illness, could really benefit from this course. If you can learn to teach it to others, it will sink in to your own psyche. You will start to correct your own actions. Life will get easier.
The Online cognitive Behavioural Therapy Course could definitely change your life.
The Online Public Scavenger Hunt Challenge
OK… so it’s not technically a course, but the online public scavenger hunt challenge is well worth the tiny price tag that comes with it. You can join their 90 minute long game sessions and take on the scavenger hunt from your own home.
Your household will play a set of games against other households – but there can be only one winner. You will work together as a household team to complete bonkers tasks and challenges, using things you ought to have around your house. At the end of the month, they have a draw from all the winners and someone wins some hats and shirts.
The online public scavenger hunt challenge is the best fun you can have as a family for an hour and a half on a weekend. It’s not studying but it encourages creativity and teamwork, so it’s learning based… honest.
